The Doors est un groupe formé en 1965 à Los Angeles, Californie, composé de Jim Morrison au chant, Ray Manzarek à l’orgue électrique, Robbie Krieger à la guitare et John Densmore à la batterie. The Doors résulte de la rencontre entre deux diplômés de l’UCLA, Morrison et Manzarek : Morrison chanta quelques-unes de ses chansons à Manzarek, en particulier Moonlight Drive. Frappé par l’intensité lyrique du texte, Manzareck invite Morrison à le rejoindre au sein de Rick and The Ravens
