Dance Gavin Dance est un groupe de post-hardcore américain originaire de Sacramento en Californie. Le groupe, formé en 2005, est issue de la dissolution des groupes Farewell Unknown et Ghost Runner On Third. Leur premier EP auto-produit intitulé "Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean", sort en 2006 et suivi dans la foulé d'une signature avec la label Rise Records. En 2007, le groupe rentre en studio avec le producteur Kris Crummett pour enregistrer leur premier véritable album intitulé "Downtown Battle Mountain".
